Coaching Staff

Bay School student-athletes have the opportunity to be trained by a coaching staff of the highest caliber—comprised of lifelong athletes who are experienced, ethical, and enthusiastic. Several of our coaches have both competed and coached on the high school, university, and professional levels. Many of them also teach academic disciplines; thus, students and teachers have the opportunity to build upon bonds that have been forged in the classroom.

Steve Glass – Director of Athletics, Assistant Coach, Boys Varsity Baseball

Steve joined the Bay School as its founding athletic director in 2004 after twelve years as athletic director and a physical education teacher at Cathedral School for Boys in San Francisco. While at Cathedral, Steve was recognized by Johns Hopkins University with an award for exemplary teaching and coaching. He also received a lifetime achievement award from the California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD).

Prior to his tenure at CSB, he held the position of sports coordinator for adult and youth programs at the Stonestown YMCA in San Francisco. Steve grew up in Santa Cruz and attended Santa Cruz High School, where he lettered in varsity basketball and baseball for three years and received all-league and all-conference honors in basketball and baseball. After high school Steve attended San Francisco State University, where he played shortstop on the varsity baseball team for four years and was selected for the all-Western Region U.S. baseball team in 1985. Following graduation, Steve began his professional baseball career when he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves. He was selected for the Mid-West All Star Team in 1988. After receiving a career-ending knee injury, Steve was retained by the Braves as a coach for two years under the leadership of Ned Yost and Jimmy Williams. In October of 2004 Steve was inducted into the San Francisco State University Athletic Hall of Fame. In spring 2009, Steve led the Bay School varsity baseball team to its first BCL-Central League Championship and NCS postseason appearance.

Erica Kajdasz, Assistant Director of Athletics, Activities Program Coordinator

Erica Kajdasz joined the Bay School in the summer of 2010. She administers the school's physical activity program and also assists the athletic director in all areas of the department.

Erica began her athletic career very early in her life as a gymnast for ten years. After competing as a four-year varsity starter in both softball and volleyball in high school, Erica went to college to pursue academics and graduated with a B.A. in American Studies: Urban Society and Structure with a minor in City and Regional Planning in 2000 from the University of California, Berkeley.

Prior to assuming her position at Bay, Erica worked as the assistant athletic director at The Urban School of San Francisco for eight years. Throughout her eight years at Urban, she helped to achieve huge successes in building Urban’s athletic department, overseeing multiple championship seasons within the Bay Counties League (BCL), North Coast Section (NCS) and CIF tournaments. Erica was the head coach of the Urban varsity softball team for six years compiling an impressive
79-27-2 record (.741 winning percentage) including four BCL League championships, five NCS appearances and two NCS second place finishes. Erica is a firm believer in the Positive Coaching Alliance and has been honored as a PCA Double Goal Coach. She also coached junior varsity and freshman/sophomore volleyball for three years. Realizing there was no girls' organized softball in the city of San Francisco, she founded the San Francisco Little League Girls Softball program in 2002. She has worked in athletic administration ever since.

Sean helped found the program at International as a student, and got into coaching when multiple shoulder injuries derailed his playing career. He went on to play three seasons of semi-pro baseball in San Francisco as a catcher. A graduate of USF, Sean is the head of operations for a small software company in San Francisco.
