Supporting the Bay School
The Bay School’s founding and growth is made possible through the generosity of our community and friends. Donations may be made to support the Annual Fund, the Opportunity Fund, the Capital Fund, and as designated gifts.
The Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is the foundation of the school’s yearly fundraising efforts. Because tuition represents approximately 70% of the program costs required to educate Bay School students, each year current parents and relatives, friends, and supporters of the school, are asked to contribute to bridge the gap. Annual Fund contributions go directly toward underwriting faculty salaries, academic and extracurricular program costs, and other operational expenses that immediately benefit all Bay School students.
The Opportunity Fund
The Bay School’s diverse student body is at the heart of the school’s mission and philosophy. The Opportunity Fund offers donors a unique opportunity to make a pivotal difference in the lives of the more than 30% of our students who receive financial aid grants, enabling them to attend the Bay School. This fund focuses on supporting capable, ambitious, and under-represented students for their four years at the Bay School.
Capital Fund
As a new school, the Bay School has considerable capital costs involving funding of the extensive renovation work on our 35 Keyes Avenue campus, capital improvements, and debt reduction. Looking forward, the board of trustees is currently engaged in planning for a dedicated Bay School gymnasium and performing arts facilities.
Designated Gifts
Many naming opportunities are available for areas of the 35 Keyes Avenue campus including the student center/dining room, outside courtyard, and science laboratories. Please contact Anna Heidinger, Director of Development, at: aheidinger@bayschoolsf.org for further details.
