Welcome to New Bay School Students and Families

Read Welcome from Tim Johnson, Head of School

All of us at Bay are happy to welcome you and your families as new members of our wonderful school community. We encourage you to attend the events below during the upcoming spring months and we look forward to getting to know you as the 2010-2011 school year begins in late August.

New Student Welcome Day, May 15

Please plan to join us on Saturday, May 15 for our annual Bay School new student welcome day. Students will arrive in the morning for math and foreign language placements exams followed by an informal reception and barbeque lunch for the Class of 2014 and their parents/guardians.

At the reception and barbeque you will have a chance to meet your new classmates for the first time in a casual setting and speak with Bay School teachers and deans, as well as upperclassmen. We'll join in a number of fun activities planned to help freshmen meet and get to know one another before the start of school. While new students are engaged in activities following lunch, parents and guardians will meet with head of school Tim Johnson, freshman class dean Matt Hannibal, dean of students Julie Taufa'asau, and Bay School Parent Association representatives. Current Bay School students and faculty members will also be available to answer questions about the upcoming school year.

Students will spend time together as an entire class, and will also meet and work closely with their faculty advisors and the other members of their advisory group. We will tour the beautiful Presidio that surrounds campus and at the end of the two days you'll feel very at home and ready to start the new academic year! Classes begin on Friday, August 27.
